Stay Tuned for Brain Bee 2015!!!

The International Brain Bee was founded in 1999 and is a world-wide competition for high school students in which students answer questions about neuroscience and the brain. The goal of the International Brain Bee is to motivate students to learn about the brain and neuroscience. The Brain Bee tests students’ knowledge of the human brain including such topics as intelligence, emotions, memory, sleep, vision, hearing, sensory and motor processing, and nervous system disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, schizophrenia, epilepsy, depression, and addiction. There are currently about 150 Local Brain Bee competitions in 30 countries worldwide. The winner of each Local Bee is invited

to Brain Bee Logoattend the National Brain Bee competition in his or her own country, and the winner of each National Bee is invited to compete in the International Brain Bee Championship.

The Delaware Brain Bee competition will involve answering questions based on study material that is available for free on the web.   The early stages of the Delaware Brain Bee will involve taking a written test in which you will answer questions about neuroscience facts, identify structures in real human brains and brain scans, and diagnose nervous system disorders by their symptoms. The final stage of the competition will be in the traditional Bee format of oral questions and answers.





Brain Bee Information:


Competitors should be prepared to answer questions over four main areas of neuroscience.


1. Neuroanatomy
2. Neurophysiology
3. Sensory & motor systems and memory
4. Neurological and brain disorders

 


Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers.
